SS Thorfinn is a 58 Metre (170ft) steel dive vessel, built and powered for comfort, safety and stability. Re-fitted in 2008 she takes only 20 guests in her 58m hull which as you can imagine allows for ample privacy and comfort. She is unique in the diving world being one of the only SS designated class boats meaning 'Steam Ship' - her large 2,500hp engine cruising her at 16 knots.
Her 10 staterooms are spacious and all en-suite with individual air conditioning and TV/DVD systems. The main deck is home to the large air conditioned dining area complete with a bookcase and selection of reading material.
Moving to the deck above you find a beautiful air conditioned salon with a TV/DVD system, a PC, and an assortment of movies, CD's and books. The outer deck has seating and a jacuzzi (hot tub) for relaxation.
The sundeck (or bridge deck) is a level up again and partially shaded with sun loungers. The dive deck is very well equipped and photograher friendly with low pressure air hose, camera table and charging areas. There are of course personal storage boxes, fresh water showers and rinse tanks. Diving is done daily from one of 5 dive tenders that shuttle between Thorfinn and the dive sites to prevent damage to the wrecks and reefs by the large mother ship.
