Manta Queen I Itinerary
From THB21,500
8:30pm Khao Lak Departure (Thap Lamu), 15 Dives, Full Equipment, Transfers.
One Of The Lower Budget 4 Night Trips You begin your trip with check in at the dive centre at around 6:30pm followed by a transfer to the pier and an 8:30pm departure. Dinner is served at about 9:30pm and the boat cruises overnight to the Similan Islands. You awake in divers paradise for your first dive. . .
The diving is at The Similans for the first day. Whilst around the Similans you will also get the opportunity to visit the beaches using the tender (dingy) if you wish. Day two you dive at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai and then move to Richelieu Rock & the Surin Islands for your third day. On your final day you return south to Koh Bon and if conditions permit, the Boonsung Wreck.
This is one of the more popular affordable 4 day trips. If you have the time then it is a great way to explore the Similans as well as get to see the famous Richelieu Rock and Surin Islands, especially at such a reasonable price.
Daily Schedule The daily schedule aboard the Manta Queen I is as follows: The first day you start with a wake up call at 7:00am. (The following 3 days you wake an hour earlier and all dives and breaks for meals are about an hour earlier). Enjoy a coffee or tea whilst a dive briefing is given and then kit up and do your first dive of the day. All dives are planned as Multi Level and each diver must dive with a buddy. A full breakfast is served at around 10am upon your return.
Relax on board or visit the islands beaches for a couple of hours and then kit up for your second dive at 12am. Lunch is served at around 13:30.
After another couple of hours relaxing on board or lying on the beach or snorkeling you are back in the water at 2pm for dive three and then snacks are served around 3pm when you get back on board.
Now is a good time to visit the sundeck as the sun in the late afternoon is more bearable in Thailand than the heat at midday.
At around 7:00pm whilst still within the less exposed and shallower sites the Similans offer you enjoy a night dive. The nocturnal life on the reef is completely different than during the day. Dinner is served at 8:00pm. You are then free to retire to your cabin or sit and enjoy a beer and watch the night sky whilst discussing the days exploits. . .
The following 3 days the routine is similar but begins an hour earlier as you do your final dive of the day at dusk / sunset rather than in darkness. Starting an hour earlier in the morning allows you enough surface interval between dives to be able to do this.
On the final day you finish your 3rd dive of the day by 3pm before cruising back to Thap Lamu harbour. Transfers to your hotel run at 5pm to 5:30pm. The trip may be over but trust us. . . The memories will stay. . .
