Scuba Adventure is a well established liveaboard that has been operating for many years. She offers a few distinct differences to the majority of other vessels. Firstly she accomodates only 12 guests which keeps things very spacious and personal. Most boats at this affordable price point put as many people as possible on board.
Secondly she departs predominantly from Chalong rather than Khao Lak. This makes it more convenient if you intend staying in Phuket as it avoids a lengthy minibus transfer.
Finally she runs both Southerly (3 night) and Northerly (4 night) trips back to back so if you want you can spend a week diving and see the best of Thailands West Coast dive sites.
All meals on board are served buffet style freshly cooked from the on board kitchen. Snacks and fruits are served in between dives.
The Sundeck is an excellent place for spotting large marine life like Dolphins and possibly Whalesharks. The deeper more exposed sites you dive on this trip offer the best chances of seeing them in the area.
The Dive Platform is at the stern of the main deck. It has plenty of room and rinsing and storage facilities for equipment. All of the tanks are stored here with DIN adapters available if required. The boat crew, will assist you gearing up and also help you on your dive entry and exit. Filling the tanks is also the crews responsibility so all you do is dive . . .
Day 1 You begin your trip with a pick-up from your hotel and boarding Scuba Adventure in Chalong late afternoon. Dinner is served and the boat cruises overnight to Koh Phi Phi. You awake in a divers paradise for your first dive. . .
Day 2 The first days diving is around Phi Phi. You begin after a light breakfast. The scenery is stunning with towering limestone cliffs reaching vertically from the crystal turquoise waters.You dive Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai in the morning and then move to Koh Ha. Koh Ha has spectacular swimthroughs - the famous "Twin Cathedral" and an enclosed lagoon that is perfect for a night dive. A total of 4 dives on the first day.
Day 3 You awake for your second days diving at Hin Muang and Hin Daeng. These two pinnacles are covered in spectacular red and purple corals and are favourites with Mantas and Whalesharks. You get 3 dives exploring these wonders and then dive at Phi Phi or Koh Ha for your night dive.
Day 4 Your fourth day you slowly make your way back to Chalong and dive any of Shark Point, Anemone Reef or King Cruiser for your 3 dives before disembarking in the early afternoon.
Not many boats offer the opportunity to dive the spectacular Phi Phi Islands and Southern sites on a liveaboard, even fewer at such an affordable price and with such a small number on board. We thoroughly recommend you take the opportunity. Further if you have enough time then stay on board and head north to the Similans. You won't regret it. . .
Day 1 This trip sees you dive all the famous sights of the Similan Islands as well as taking you north to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and the well known Richelieu Rock. You will enjoy 4 days spectacular diving in one of the worlds top 10 National Marine Parks.
Day 2 The first days diving is spent doing 4 dives (including a night dive) around the Similan Islands. Dive sites here are numerous and varied and chosen by the experienced dive crew according to conditions. You cruise further north in the evening to Koh Bon.
Day 3 You awake at Koh Bon. This site is popular with big pelagics. (Manta spotting time)
Day 3 you spend your third day further north at Koh Tachai with its shallow reefs, submerged plateaus and huge ivory sand deserted beach. Once again 4 dives.
Day 4The most northerly and spectacular site is saved for last - Richelieu Rock. This is a superb deep water submerged pinnacle - a favourite with photographers for its larger pelagics, schooling fish and a host of Macro oppportunities not found at other sites.
As a more personal affordable 4 night trip, Scuba Adventure is hard to beat. . .
